Accused L.A. airport gunman to be spared death penalty in plea deal

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The man accused of shooting a security screener to death at Los Angeles International Airport in 2013 has agreed to plead guilty to murder of a federal officer in exchange for prosecutors dropping their bid for the death penalty, according to court documents filed on Thursday.
