Federal prosecutor Preet Bharara of New York said he was fired Saturday after refusing the Justice Department's order to resign. The DOJ asked for resignations from Bharara, as well as 45 other holdover U.S. attorneys appointed by Obama. Bharara, 48, was appointed in 2009 and made a name for himself prosecuting politicians, white-collar criminals and Times Square bomber Faisal Shahzad. His firing comes after he met with Donald Trump in November and told reporters that Trump asked him to stay on.
